New Adventures

As most of you know, Josh and I love being on the boat! So we are hoping that Madison loves it just as much as we do. Thursday afternoon, Madison went on her first boat ride! She was thrilled about it at first but after a feeding (yes, I had to breastfeed on a boat) and a nap, she really enjoyed it! We do believe that we have a future fisherwoman on our hands.

Josh's parents were here this past weekend and we had a great time! They hadn't seen Madison in a few months so it was nice for them to see how much she has grown and changed. Madison is now in #2 diapers! When I put the first one on her and it fit...it actually made me teary eyed! Seriously...where is my baby going? She is getting so big and is no longer my "newborn" baby! She is laughing and squealing and trying to roll over. She has also discovered how to bring her hands together and grab at toys. Linda brought Madison her new Bumbo seat and she really likes it! Madison hates to lay back, she tries so hard to sit up so this seat is perfect!

Saturday was Josh's 29th birthday...so we dressed Madison up in her "I Love Daddy" shirt! Madison gave her daddy a sweet picture frame for his office. His parents bought a DELICIOUS cake from Publix and we had a really nice dinner at Big's Place.

Some other great news...two more births in our family happened over the past few weeks. Shaun and Heather had a baby girl, Kaylie, over the weekend and Shane and Christy had a baby boy, Mason, on October 13. Both babies and moms are doing great! Congratulations to both of you! :)

Baby Laughs

Biggest news this week...Madison has officially started laughing! It is the cutest thing that I have ever seen or heard!!! She started laughing a few weeks ago when we would talk to her. Well, it was more like a squeal...but it came with a smile so we chose to believe that it was a "laugh". Today she started laughing because I was tickling her. I mean really laughing...it was so cute! I will try and get it on video to share with everyone.

Last Saturday, I went and did a little shopping (at Wal-mart) so Josh and Madison spent a little daddy/daughter time together. Josh took her to the hunting and fishing store...go figure! :) On Sunday we went to get our Halloween pumpkins. We let Madison pick her own pumpkin and she loved it! :) On Monday, Madison and I took a trip with Ursula to Wal-mart and to get some lunch at Ruby Tuesdays. She did really well, seeing as how we were gone for most of the day. She is such a good baby!

Josh's birthday is next weekend and his parents will be here to celebrate with us. We are looking forward to their visit!

Big Girl Bed!!

Guess who is in her big girl bed now!!! So I finally broke down last Friday and decided to put Madison in her crib from now on. I said that I was going to do this when she turned 2 months old but as you can see, it took me a little bit longer! She did GREAT! I was so worried that she would cry all night but she didn't! She didn't sleep quite as well as usual for the first few nights but she never cried once! I think it was harder on me the first night than it was on her. I stayed up most of the night listening to the baby monitor. I probably got about 3 hours of sleep. So it has been a week and she is still doing very well. She sleeps until about 5 am now and then goes back to sleep until about 8 am. She is such a good little sleeper! I think we will keep her! :)

So Big!

This past weekend Aunt Jenny and Smyrl came to visit us and to see Madison for the first time. We had a great time with them! We went to a new restaurant here in Painter (that was actually good) and on Saturday we went to the Cape Charles Tomato Festival. Funny thing about the tomato festival...there were NO tomatoes at this so called festival...seriously...not one tomato! Anyway, we had a good time while they were here and hope they come back soon! Josh's parents are probably coming up for Josh's birthday and then my Nanna and Poppop are coming the weekend of Halloween...so we will have lots of visitors this month! We are looking forward to seeing everyone.

Madison is now a little over 10 weeks old and is growing like a weed! She is just absolutely perfect in every way possible. We love her so much!! She is sleeping until about 4 or 5 am now. The next step is to put her in her crib. I just haven't been able to do it yet...but I'm planning on giving it a shot this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes! :)

Here are a few pics from the past week.
